I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it saves us, deepens us, and puts us on mission together for God’s purposes of Spirit filled living. More than anything else, this is my heartbeat, my passion, my Polaris.

By God’s grace I have been married 20 years to Melinda, my dazzling wife. God has allowed us to steward the lives of our two girls, Jessalyn (14 years), and Makayla (11 years). I love my girls, and how God reveals Himself to me through all three of them.

I love our church family at LBAC. I served here as Student Ministries Pastor from 1993-2000, and after some time serving with the team at Neighborhood Church of Castro Valley in the Bay Area, I rejoined the LBAC staff team as Lead Pastor in July, 2004. The tremendous heart for the spread of the Gospel through Long Beach and beyond has kept me thriving at LBAC these past 10 years. I experience God here, and love serving as the Lead Pastor.

Somehow, I graduated from Biola University in 1992 with a B.A. degree in Christian Education, Bible minor. Then, after 10 years of part-time school and full-time life, I completed my M.Div. program with an emphasis in Evangelism & Discipleship from Talbot School of Theology in 2012. I love to learn, love to preach, and love to explore the Gospel in my life.

So there it is… God, Christ, Holy Spirit – Family – Christ’s Church – Lifelong Learner. Throw in the LA Dodgers and lots of Starbucks, and you pretty much have a good idea of where God has me these days. If blessing is happiness, I am most blessed.
